Your shoes tiptoe
to the middle of the room.
I throw them to the side.

Wednesday.
Growing anxiety.
Your ropes trip me up
as I head to class.
I kick them back
but a part of me lingers.

Thursday.
Intense withdrawals.
Your harness tries to wrap
around my legs.
I reach to sinch
but let you fall back to the floor.
Just one more day…

Friday,
Extreme anticipation.
I stare at the clock
waiting to get out of class.
You stare at the door
waiting to see me burst through.
I barge in and you rejoice.
We watch the clock
waiting for tomorrow to come.
